POLIO SURVIVORS SUPPORT GROUP OF WNY--NEWSLETTER JUNE 1996 Our President, Don O'Connor tells us that he received quite a heavy response from polio survivors to the Buffalo News article, "Polio. Survivors face lifelong problems", written bu Susan LoTempio. Many of the calls were from survivors who were not aware that a support group was in existence in the Buffalo area. Some of the callers were very interested in learning more about our group and intend to attend our next meeting. Speaking of meetings, our next one will be held on June 19, at 7:14 p.m. at St.Stephen's-Bethlehem United Church of Christ on Wehrle Drive, near Union. All of our readers are welcome. The agenda will include nomination of officers for the coming year, we'll play the videotape of Dr.Maynard's recent talk, and there will be a demonstration of massage therapy. Now that summer has returned, remember, we do not have our regular Wednesday evening meetings in July or August, but we will meet informally at the Hatch Restaurant at the Erie Basin Marina on Wednesday, JULY 17 and AUGUST 21, AT 11:30 A,M,-- strictly informal, no agenda--just a get-together Dave Hamilton has numerous articles on Post Polio Sydrome which he will bring to the June meeting for you to browse and we can make you copies of any you will find helpful^x .
