There is a monkey named Squoosh. Squoosh is a hand puppet that was bought for a little lady named Pumpkin. She adores Squoosh because she looks so alive. Squoosh has red soft hair with a cute face. Pumpkin decided that the creature needed Grandparents. She made her parents Grandparents. Squoosh's Grandma is skinny with short brown hair, a slender nose and big chocolate eyes. Grandma has a sense of humor. Squoosh's Grandpa has white hair, a long thin nose and ornery blue eyes.
On Halloween evening, Squoosh's Grandpa was going trick or treating. He dressed like a lion. He had a brown body with a long tail. Grandma drew whiskers on his cheeks and colored the tip of his nose brown. Grandpa placed the mane around his face. Grandma drew five pads on each palm. Grandpa fussed as she attempted to draw on the bottom of his feet. He wore brown shoes to match his costume. Finally, Grandma handed Grandpa a candy bag and requested that he see Pumpkin. As he went out the door, he forgot about his tail. His tail got caught in the door. Grandpa turned around to see his tail off his costume. He picked his costume tail up as he went back into his house. He walked over to Grandma with the tail in his paw. Grandma tried real hard not to laugh. Grandpa explained to his wife what occurred. Grandma performed minor surgery on his tail while chuckling the entire time.
Pumpkin opened the door for her Dad. Pumpkin glanced at him and began laughing. After his visit with his daughter, he went to gather candy. Pumpkin didn't realize that Squoosh came alive and followed Grandpa. Squoosh ran as fast as her chubby legs would go. Squoosh hung onto Grandpa's tail for guidance because it was dark outside. Grandpa walked to his first house to receive a Hersey bar. The adults who opened the door thought that Squoosh was a little girl dressed like a monkey. They gave her a candy bag with a strawberry sucker. Squoosh grabbed Grandpa's tail as they walked to the next house.
A little girl in a wheelchair caught Squoosh's attention. This girl had sandy blonde hair, brown eyes,pudged nose, and a bright smile. Squoosh's Grandpa knelt down to talk with the little girl. He discovered that the child had a speech impairment. Her father thought she was mentally impaired until she laughed at Squoosh. Squoosh's Grandpa drew a horse and a monkey. He asked the girl to point to the horse and she pointed to the horse. Grandpa informed her father that his little girl was intelligent.He told of his daughter who has Cerebral Palsy. Cerebral Palsy is a muscle control condition. The Doctor thought that Pumpkin was mentally impaired until she received her talking device. He told the man that he would ask Pumpkin about talking devices and get back to him.
Squoosh's Grandpa felt a tugging on his tail on their way home. He looked behind him, but the monkey rapidly ran the opposite way that Grandpa looked. They arrived home safely. Squoosh followed Grandpa home to spend the night with Grandma. She scooted inside the house to discover Grandma sleeping. The creature set her goodies down and laid next to her favorite Grandma. Squoosh fell fast asleep. Grandpa looked at his wife and wondered why she had Pumpkin's puppet. He dismissed the thought as he drifted off to sleep. When Squoosh awoke, she noticed Grandpa was going out the door to see Pumpkin. The critter followed behind Grandpa to her mother's house. While Pumpkin discussed talking devices with her father, Squoosh climbed on her seat. Pumpkin's father asked why her Mom slept with Squoosh the night before. She thought that he dreamt the event. After he left, Pumpkin picked the monkey up and wondered why she had chocolate around her mouth.
